This object starts as a plain aluminum square. Through a simple act of bending, a square metal plate is transformed into a functional, free-standing object. Folding of the plate creates two functional parts - one serves as a base, and the other contains side-lit LED light source. The aluminum plate is used as a heat sink for LED lights which are distributed on its edge, while everything is covered with a synthetic paper which diffuses the light. Somewhere between craft and high technology, this ambient lamp conveys a modest and poetic appearance reminiscent of a folded paper sheet.
