Plami lamps are an interpretation of these fantastic creatures - their shades are made from glass that melts in a glass-blowing furnace at a temperature higher than 1.100 degrees Celsius, to be formed by specially skilled glassblowers. When finished, these lamps create ambient light scenarios while spreading a warm and inviting atmosphere in the home.

The molten glass for Plami lamps is blown into a traditional wooden mould. Therefore, each lamp is slightly different from the previous ones, with subtle irregularities that are hard to achieve through the classical industrial process. Lamps are made of crystal glass with a higher refractive index than ordinary glass, creating a playful interaction between the glass and light. The idea is to achieve an equally interesting effect both when lamps are lit or unlit; during the day, acting like a suspended sculpture refracting the space around them, and by night becoming warm glints of light.

The convenient size of Plami lamps allows them to be mounted in group formations (rows and clusters) or as a single pendant, which, depending on the formation, allows for the creation of different light scenarios.
